Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

South American Fishing Trip: Futaleufu Lodge Chili

The picturesque area of Futaleufu offers the most idyllic setting for a fly fishing lodge you will ever see. The location puts you within easy access to a wide selection of lakes and streams.

The Rio Espolon and Rio Futaleufu are classic waters. A drive to the south gives you a choice of two more equally beautiful streams, Rios Palena and Malito. Lagos Espolon and nearby Yelcho also enjoy high reputations, and there are many smaller lakes and streams, some still to be explored. The area is an angler's dream come true. The fishing season is from November to April.

Sonia and Jim Repine are your hosts at Futaleufu Lodge, personally attending to your needs throughout your visit. They have a farm bordering the Futaleufu River and converted the main dwelling into a small, intimate lodge beside the water.

The lodge features a lounge area, bar, dining room, kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms with private toilet and shower facilities.
