FISHING DESTINATIONS:
TURNEFFE FLATS,
TURNEFFE ISLAND, BELIZE
Located on Turneffe Island, 30 miles East of Belize City, Turneffe Flats continues to prove itself as a first-class operation. With its recently renovated and enlarged lounge and dining facilities, the accommodations and excellent food only accentuate the lodge's commitment to quality. Eight double rooms in newly built cabins with larger rooms, Mexican tile floors, vaulted ceilings, and picture windows provide all the basic modern conveniences for up to 12 guests. All the new rooms are air conditioned.
With an unmatched fleet of 16-ft Dolphin Super Skiffs (operated by some of the most personable, knowledgeable guides anywhere in the world), fishermen can explore this vast fishery quickly and efficiently. Impressive numbers of bonefish, permit, tarpon and snook frequent the immense network of channels and flats, while cubera snapper, shark, barracuda and jacks are an ever-present bonus. Directly in front of the lodge, the flats are interrupted by a fabulous reef, which is home to a variety of species that will greedily attack both flies and lures.
Turneffe Flats offers a quality, full-service dive program with an experienced divemaster. Just six divers are accommodated at a time; personalized care is their hallmark. Diving will be conducted from 48-ft Pro. The lodge's ideal location provides easy access to all of the great dive sites in the Turneffe Islands as well as the other famous areas along the reef. Diving, including instruction, can be easily combined with a fishing package.

"This excellent location and knowledgeable guide taught me more in a week about fly fishing on saltwater flats than I could have learned on my own."
