EDUCATION: CLASSES:
FLY CASTING CLINICS
Dates: Apr. 9, May 21, 2005
The Ozark Angler would like to offer you the opportunity to learn or improve your fly casting skills using state-of-the-art equipment for the reasonable price of $40.
This half day morning or afternoon classes will be taught by two certified instructors. The clinics will be held at the Oasis Renewal Center on Cooper Orbit Road which is just a short distance from our Little Rock shop. In the class you will learn the following skills:
- Roll Casting: both left and right sides.
- Pickup and Laydown: the basic cast for straightening out line and step one of false casting and presentation.
- False Casting: loop formation; correcting tailing loops, learning to judge distance relative to the cast.
- Lengthening Line and Shooting Casts: learning how to feed outline during the false cast and the final presentation.
- Line Controlling Casts: learning curved casts and slack line casts, both essential for successful stream or river fishing.
- Double Haul Casting: for advanced students looking for maximum distance and accuracy.
Class size will be limited so each student receives adequate personalized instruction. Advanced casters can use this personalized approach to concentrate on specific areas of interest.
In the half-day session you cannot expect to become an expert fly caster, but the Sage Casting Clinic will introduce you to the proper techniques and give you a foundation to refine your casting skills in your own time.
We will provide state-of-the-art equipment on which you will learn to cast. For safety precautions please bring a pair of sunglasses and a hat (even though no hooks will be used).
To sign up for the Fly Casting Clinic, call 501.225.6504 or e-mail us your name, address and phone number. See you in April!
