HELPFUL TOOLS OF THE TRADE

The Ozark Angler has one of the largest selections of fly tying tools and fly tying materials which include manufacturers such as: Wapsi, Umpqua, Spirit River, Orvis, Metz, Hoffman, Bow Tyer, Regal, Thompson, Angling Surgeon, Anvil, Renzettii, Dyna King, McKenzie, and Rocky Mountain Dubbing.

Our selection of tools and materials is one of the largest in the south with many other manufacturers that are not listed above.

The list of materials and tools is constantly being updated to meet the needs of our professional staff of fly tiers who tie over 4,000 dozen flies for the shop for use in the trout waters of the Little Red, the White and the North Fork Rivers in Arkansas.

Basic Fly Tying Tools
    Vise - the device used to hold the hook during the construction process.
    Bobbin - "Y" shaped tool that holds the fly tying thread under tension during
        the fly tying process.
    Scissors - used to cut feathers, thread and general use around the fly tying bench.
    Whip Finish - tool to tie the final knot on the fly to keep it from unraveling.
