Little Red River Fishing Report

River Levels

The water levels on the Little Red River change daily due to the 2 turbine generators on the Greers Ferry dam that the Corps of Engineers operates to made hydroelectric power. The water levels can rise and fall very quickly because of the length of the river.

Hatches

Great midge hatches.  Start getting ready for caddis!!!

Fly Patterns

Flies:  Eggs, Y2k, San Juan Worms Elk hair Caddis, BWO's, cracklebacks, tiny Para Adams, Griffiths Gnat, Zebra midges, Miracle Nymph, glass bead midge nymphs(brown, gray), marabou midge emergers, WD 40's, WD 50's, Sculpins, woolly buggers, PT's, and scuds. 

14 Day Forecast

The Little Red is currently 1 foot under power pool level.  Fishing before today's generation has been perfect.  The corp is barely running any water!  What a perfect set up for the weekend.  A little rain and overcast.  You can't get better than that!!!
