LITTLE RED RIVER - FISHING & RIVER REPORT
Tuesday, November 6, 2007

River Levels
The water levels on The Little Red River change daily due the 2 turbine generators on the Greers Ferry Dam, that the Corps of Engineers operate to made hydroelectric power. The water level will rise about 4 feet vertically with each generator, making wade fishing only possible along the edges in just a few places. For the current water levels, call the Greers Ferry Powerhouse (501) 362-5150. The recorded message is a report of current turbine generator operation not a forecast of future schedules.

Hatches
Large hatches of dragon and damselfly hatches with a few small mayfly hatches on a sunny days.

Fly Patterns
The dragon and damsel flies are best imitated with big woollies (black, brown and olive)along with the classic fly patterns: Whitlock dragonfly nymphs, damsel nymphs. Other flies to mention: Zebra midges, beadhead midge nymphs, Soft hackle BWO, Bird's Nest, PT's, and sow bugs.

14 Day Forecast
We are getting a few of hours of water release in the evening with pretty high flow rates.

Other Information
Heavy rain on Sunday has caused a some color from Sulfur Creek on down because of the runoff. Should clear by the weekend with some water releases.
