FISHING & RIVER REPORT - WHITE RIVER
Tuesday, November 6, 2007

River Levels
The water levels on the White River tailwater change daily due to the 8 turbine generators on the Bull Shoals dam that the Corps of Engineers operates hydroelectric power. The discharge of water is proportional to the number of turbine generators operating during the day. For the current water levels, call the Bull Shoals Powerhouse (870) 431-5311. The recorded message is report of current conditions only, not a forecast for future water releases.

Hatches
A few hatches of sulfurs but not too strong yet.

Fly Patterns
Standard Flies: 56'ers, Copper Johns, RFSN, GRHE, Prince, Birds Nest, woolly buggers and scuds. Big flies: crawfish, sculpins, Zonkers etc. can take some bigger brown trout when the water is up some.

14 Day Forecast
Releases are better but still very fishable. Run off from the rains should help lake levels some.

Other Information
Some heavy rain in the area on Sunday should cause some color in the lower river from Crooked Creek and Buffalo River. Fishing should return to normal once the color clears up from water releases.
